 DERMAL FILLERS

Lip Enhancement

Lip enhancement/ augmentation often referred to as "Lip Fillers" is the most common non-surgical treatment performed in the UK. Lip tissue undergoes the most mechanical and chemical exposure. We spend a lot of the day talking, chewing and making facial expressions. Over time, this leads to the lower one third of our face ageing the fastest. Cultural trends have shifted towards more plump and voluptuous lips causing the growth in lip fillers over recent years.

Lip fillers are made up of low to medium density dermal fillers. They contain Hyaluronic acid which is a naturally occurring carbohydrate found in our skin cells. Lip fillers allow us to add more of this clear gel like substance to the lips to add volume, define shape and enhance beauty.

We teach to tailor the lip enhancement results to the clients wishes and to what will suit them best. We understand that for some people a "natural but defined" pair of lips is pleasing while for others, fuller "heart shaped" lips are desirable. Students are taught to discuss each clients expectations and wishes at the consultation to ensure each client leaves with their ideal lips.

Typical areas of concern the Lip Fillers can address:

  • Increases fullness of thin lips.

  • Enhances lip definition and shape

  • Creates a more defined smile with proportioned lips

  • Give the client a more youthful, rejuvenated appearance

  • Create upturned corners of lips

  • Add projection and symmetry to asymmetrical lips

Nasolabial Folds

Nasolabial folds are the lines which run from your nose to your mouth.

As we age, we will almost all begin to notice the appearance of nasolabial lines, but thankfully through skilful use of dermal fillers we are able to plump the skin around this area to help lessen this tell tale sign of ageing.

Deep nasolabial folds can be corrected through injections of dermal filler into the surrounding area, restoring the lost volume and softening the appearance of these creases. The goal of nasolabial fold injections is to even out the skin volume, leaving you with a smoother, refreshed-looking appearance.

Marionette Lines

Marionette lines are the wrinkles that extend downwards from the corners of the mouth, separating the cheeks from the chin. These wrinkles also become more pronounced with age and can result in a downturned and depressed look.

Often, the gain and loss of weight, as well as frowning, can be major factors, but the typical reason for marionette lines is because of the ageing process.

Collagen, elasticity and facial fat reduce as we get older, which can result in the sagging of facial skin, causing wrinkles including marionette lines. Models of any age can receive this treatment, however, it is typically better suited to older candidates.

Treating the marionette lines involves injecting fillers to plump up the area and smooth the appearance of the skin.

Russian Lip Technique

What are “Russian Lips”?

This specific technique will shape the lips into a subtle heart shape with more volume near the centre, much like a Russian doll.

It tends to lift the lip rather than add excessive volume so it’s ideal for lip filler newbies or those seeking a natural finish. You will also notice a ‘flatter’ appearance as height is the goal, rather than plumpness.

How is the Russian Lip technique different?

Unlike traditional lip filler, an injector employing the Russian Lip technique injects the product vertically starting at the base of the lip and drawing the product outward toward the lip border. Rather than starting from the lip border and working inward, the injector works the product from the inside out.

Remember: Model treatments are performed for cosmetic reasons and because of this, the results can only be assessed subjectively. Therefore, whilst we advise as to the probable result, this should in no way be interpreted as a guarantee. Given the nature of the treating practitioners, the results may not be the same as with a more experienced practitioner. Standard safe quantities of product will be used during this training exercise.
